Background

Tellado was born in 1927 in El Franco, Asturias, Spain. She grew up in a middle-class family and was educated in a religious school. After finishing her education, she took a secretarial course. She sold her first novel, "Atrevida apuesta," in 1946 under the pseudonym Corín Tellado. She got married in 1959 and had two children, but was widowed early. Tellado was a prolific author, having written over 4,000 romance novels and stories in her lifetime, claiming a spot in the Guinness World Records for the most novels published in a single lifetime. Some of her works have even been adapted into films and TV series. She passed away in 2009.
