John Green

John Michael Green is an American author and YouTube content creator. He is widely known for his successful young adult novels, including "The Fault in Our Stars" and "Paper Towns". Both have been adapted into major motion pictures. He, along with his brother Hank Green, also manages the popular YouTube channels VlogBrothers and Crash Course.

Background

Green was born in 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he spent a significant part of his childhood. He graduated from Kenyon College with a degree in English and Religious studies. Following his graduation, he worked in Chicago as a student chaplain in a children's hospital, experiences from which influenced his debut novel, Looking for Alaska, published in 2005. From 2010, he began uploading vlogs with his brother Hank on their YouTube channel "vlogbrothers", which grew into a large online following and led to other YouTube projects such as Crash Course and Project for Awesome. Green is perhaps best known for his novel The Fault in Our Stars, released in 2012, which was later made into a successful movie. He continues to write and create online content and is an active voice in the online community.
