Jojo Moyes

Jojo Moyes is a British author, one of only a few to have twice won the Romantic Novel of the Year Award by the Romantic Novelists' Association. Moyes is well known for her novels "Me Before You" and "Still Me" amongst others, many of which have been translated into different languages and have hit the New York Times bestseller list.

Background

Moyes was born in 1969, in London, to a journalist couple, and spent her childhood moving between different cities in the United Kingdom. She studied at Royal Holloway, University of London, and Bedford New College, after which she had a short stint of various jobs before deciding to become a journalist. She worked at The Independent newspaper for ten years before writing her first novel Sheltering Rain, which was published in 2002. Her international bestseller Me Before You was published in 2012 and had a record sale, leading to it being adapted into a movie in 2016. Following that, Moyes wrote several sequels to the novel and continues her writing career alongside journalism.
