Liu Zhixia was born in 1975, in Beijing, China. Growing up in a family of literature lovers, Liu Zhixia started writing at a young age under the influence of her parents. She graduated from Renmin University with a major in Chinese Literature. After graduation, she worked as a journalist and editor in several magazines in China. In 2003, she published her first novel "Long Live Youth", which was well-received and marked her transition into a full-time writer. Her novel "Five Centimeters Per Second" was later adapted into a popular animated film. She remains an influential figure in Chinese literature.
